Jeanie Cooke’s first reaction to becoming a Hall of Famer was to shout out her partner in all things Danvillfe Stadium, Rick Kurth.
“He is the one that should get the honors and the attention,” she said. “He is the one that knew how much I loved and was involved in baseball and asked me to come in as a business partner. The stadium was ready for demolition and he saw the vision.”
Co-owners Cooke and Kurth kick off another season of Danville Dans baseball tonight at a spruced-up stadium (A-1). We visited last week as work continued, Cooke admitting she spends way too much time at “her happy place.”
