DANVILLE — The Danville Area Community College Board is expected to extend the interim president’s contract at a special meeting Wednesday, which is also the deadline for applications for the position.
The board will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday on the DACC campus to consider extending interim President Randy Fletcher’s contract through Dec. 31, according to Board Chairman Greg Wolfe.
Wolfe says this is “simply an extension” to Fletcher’s contract to allow the board “time to review applicants based on our posting.”
The board earlier met with criticism after it was revealed that it was offering Fletcher the position on a permanent basis — and was in the process of negotiating his contract — without seeking or considering other applicants.
