Keep Vermilion County Beautiful (KVCB) is an environmentally focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of Keep America Beautiful working with volunteers to beautify and protect our public green spaces, encourage mindful litter remediation, support green initiatives, bolster partnerships within the community, and more.
Qualified candidates for Executive Director are expected to maintain a positive impact and network, provide organizational oversight to ensure the resources, volunteers, and sponsorship to fulfill KVCB’s mission. Must live in Vermilion County, take pride in our community, strive to build a brighter future, promote education, teamwork, accountability, self-motivated excellence, ability to problem solve and present solutions clearly, take initiative, maintain records, excellent communication and interpersonal
skills (written and verbal), experience developing and maintaining a diverse team.
Social media, marketing, design, environmental or education related experience preferred.

This position pays $15,000 per year. No benefits.
DUTIES FOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:
1. Manage the day-to-day operations, annual goals, coordinate monthly board meetings in conjunction with the executive board, nurture community connections, increase awareness and engagement.
2. Plan and coordinate at least one litter clean up per month (April to November), seek one or more community groups (neighborhood, school, church, business, etc.) to collaborate, monitor the weather, oversee sign-in procedure for collecting waivers and emergency contact info.
3. Gather and report Adopt-A-Spot statistics, suggested event locations, event summaries (number of volunteers, number of bags or pounds of debris/tires/etc. removed/recycled) or other notable data in conjunction with board members for future program planning and board action.
4. Build and maintain a newsletter for monthly communication to all KVCB members detailing current and future plans, progress, stories, organization milestones, goals, etc.
5. Maintain social media and event pages, flyers, signs, banners, etc. for KVCB. Expectation of one (or more) scheduled social media posts per week with increased engagement surrounding events.
6. Represent KVCB at council meetings, events, news outlets, etc. build and maintain strong partnerships with community stakeholders, identify strategies to connect them with KVCB events.
7. Promote KVCB activities, beautification, and recycling.
8. Coordinate Night of Lights Parade, Labor Day Parade, and Balloons Over Vermilion.
9. Seek and complete grant applications alongside creative fundraising efforts.
10. Receive donations or sponsorships, make deposits and pay bills in a timely manner, refine budget with long-term sustainability in mind alongside the Treasurer and board members.
11. Other duties as assigned. Other requirements include: valid driver’s license and vehicle, lifting of 20+ pounds in supplies, signs, etc. Manual dexterity for computer operations, cell phone. Comfort walking, standing, and withstanding working outdoors in all seasons. Climbing stairs or sometimes rugged terrain. Weekend or evening event attendance. Ability or willingness to learn how to pull trailer behind pickup truck.
