Movies, Writing, and Word Puzzles Every Wednesday throughout June & July
Danville, IL — Wednesdays at the Danville Public Library are anything but ordinary this summer! With a full lineup of free, family-friendly programming every Wednesday in June and July, there’s something for every age and interest.
Free Wednesday Movies kick off at 1:00 PM in the first-floor meeting room, hosted by the Children’s Department. Families are invited to enjoy a fun, kid-friendly movie together—with free popcorn and drinks available while supplies last. It’s the perfect way to cool off and unwind on a hot summer afternoon.
Teens can tap into their creativity at Teen Writing Club, held from 3:30 to 4:30 PM in the Young Adult (YA) area. “We provide the journals, pens, and prompts—teens bring their voices and stories,” said Brittney Ziegler, Children’s Department Coordinator. “It’s a supportive space to write, share ideas, and explore your creativity.”
And for puzzle lovers of all ages, Wordy Wednesdays offer a quiet challenge all day long. Visit the 2nd floor Reference Desk anytime during regular business hours to pick up a fresh variety of word puzzles—no registration required.
“Wednesdays are packed with opportunities to explore, create, and connect,” said Brooke Truscelli, Community Engagement Coordinator. “Whether you want to sit back with a movie, stretch your writing muscles, or challenge your brain with puzzles, the library is the place to be.”
All programs are free and open to the public. No advance registration is necessary—just stop in and enjoy.
Visit the Danville Public Library every Wednesday this summer for stories, snacks, and something new to do.
