Republican State Senator Chapin Rose told CIMG earlier this week he has had enough of Democratic State Legislators coming out of the state budget negotiations saying they were doing things to counter the action of the Trump Administration.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: Governor Pritzker declared a $3.1 billion budget deficit the Friday before the presidential election in November. It’s not on President Trump. You know, nobody put a gun to Governor Pritzker’s head and forced him to spend $15 billion in new spending over the last six years of his governorship.
Senator Rose says the first place everyone should look is what the governor has done for illegal immigrants.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: (Do) you think Donald Trump forced him to do free health care for illegal immigrants? OH, I KNOW! “Donald Trump forced him to do $40 million for immigrant welcome centers!” That’s all on Pritzker. We didn’t even have immigrant welcome centers four years ago. Before these progressive leftists starting throwing out the welcome mat for every last illegal that can make it to Illinois.
Rose says one thing scaring him is something the State Senate already passed, a statewide tax on deliveries to your home to help fund mass transit in Chicago.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: Where they’re going to tax everybody in Illinois $1.50 per delivery from Amazon, Grub Hub, etc. Think about that for your listeners. Your new mom just went back to work after maternity leave, you need to get diapers to the house; boom, $1.50. You’re a senior citizen having a hard time getting out, you need some toilet paper; boom, $1.50.
Rose says the only reason the Illinois House didn’t try to pass this was because they ran out of time. But there’s still plenty of 2025 left for either special sessions or the Fall Veto Session.
