Danville, IL – After weeks of romantic entanglements, heartbreaking eliminations, and unexpected twists, the identity of the final couple remains shrouded in mystery as The Fischer Theatre prepares to host the most talked-about (fake) wedding fundraiser of the year.
On Saturday, June 28th, the historic Fischer Theatre invites the public to witness the dramatic conclusion of “Funny For Love Comedy Show: An interactive fake wedding experience to benefit the Fischer Theatre.” This innovative local reality show fundraiser that has captivated the community with weekly episodes featuring surprise revelations and emotional moments. But the burning question remains: who will exchange vows when the curtain rises?
“This is truly one of the most unique fundraising events we’ve ever hosted,” said Ashton Greer, Interim Director at the Fischer Theatre. “It’s a chance to dress up, laugh, and experience a one-of-a-kind wedding celebration—without the pressure of bringing a gift! And, most importantly, every dollar raised goes toward preserving and enhancing the Fischer Theatre for generations to come.”
The evening begins at 5:30 PM with a cocktail hour as guests speculate about the final couple. At 6:30 PM, all questions will be answered during a comedic yet heartfelt ceremony that promises both tears and laughter. Following the nuptials, guests will enjoy a casual dinner in the elegant Portia Club before returning to the auditorium for a reception featuring dancing, karaoke, and unforgettable wedding moments. Event highlights include:
