URBANA — A local healthcare provider has indicated that some services will be shifted away from its Urbana location as it consolidates two hospital campuses.
OSF HealthCare announced Thursday morning that its Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana and Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville will be coming together as “one hospital with two campuses.”
The plan will be implemented on Jan. 1, 2026, pending approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.
“The timeline is to really be collaborative and strategic around what this is going to look like in this community for the rest of 2025, with a goal of implementing all of these services that get shifted to either Danville or Bloomington by January of ’26,” said OSF President J.T. Barnhart.
