DANVILLE — The Vermilion County Board is expected on Tuesday to approve the appointment of Vermilion County Chief Deputy Clerk Robyn Heffern to fill the remainder of Vermilion County Clerk Cathy Jenkins’ term.
The board meets at 6 p.m. at the Joseph G. Cannon Building, 201 N. Vermilion St.
Jenkins, who served for more than a decade in the position, resigned from her term early, retiring July 1. Jenkins was most recently elected in 2022, and the Georgetown Republican announced then that this would be her last term.
The Republican Central Committee met May 29. It nominated and voted on Heffern to fill the rest of the term.
