THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at around 7:45 p.m., Danville Police Officers responded to a hit and run traffic crash in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive. Officers learned the victim, who had been struck by a vehicle, was a 4-year-old juvenile.
The victim was taken to a local hospital by family members before police arrived. The juvenile was listed as stable at that time but transferred to a hospital in Urbana.
A witness described a red SUV driving recklessly, being driven by 20-year-old Tyran A Coe of Danville, striking the juvenile and then leaving the scene of the crash. The vehicle was located unoccupied about two blocks from the scene of the incident.
At around 10:50 p.m., Tyran Coe arrived at the Public Safety Building and turned himself in to the Danville Police Department. Coe was booked at the Vermilion County Jail on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Aggravated Reckless Driving.
