Summer Tuesday evenings in Danville usually include two items happening at 6 PM. One is a TAPS ON TUESDAY ceremony, which is happening this week (June 17th) at Spring Hill Cemetery’s Soldiers Circle.
Another is a meeting from the Danville City Council, which this week is a 6 PM meeting of the full City Council.
For this week, however, an interesting third item has been added. First, it was announced last week that the scheduled Danville District 118 School Board meeting was moved up from Wednesday, June 18th to Tuesday, June 17th. CIMG was told that this move was made for scheduling accommodations.
Now, in addition, an updated Danville District 118 School Board meeting agenda released over the weekend includes recommendations for the appointments of a new District 118 Superintendent, and a new District 118 Associate Superintendent.
It was in April that the previous District 118 School Board approved a separation agreement with outgoing superintendent Dr. Alicia Geddis. Assistant Superintendent John Hart has been serving at Interim Superintendent.
The closed session portion of Tuesday night’s (June 17th) Danville District 118 School Board meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 PM, with the open session to follow. Prior to the superintendent action items, the agenda includes a period for public comment.
