One thing about farmers: It’s not all crops and farm programs for most of them. They’re not afraid to get involved in their communities. Take Steve Lane, for example. He’s a longtime school board member and a member of Second Church of Christ.
How long has your family been farming?
My (Steve) great-grandfather, Wyram V. Lane, and his wife, Sarah, bought the farm in 1860. It has been in the family ever since. I am the fourth generation to this farm.
Where is your farm operation?
We are located in Vermilion County in the Jamesburg/Henning area.
