Two new Danville city administrators were sworn in during last evening’s (Tuesday’s) city council meeting. Tasha Davis is the new Human Relations Administrator, and Rachel Haun will be taking over as City Clerk. Davis replaces former long-time Human Relations Administrator Sandra Finch. Haun will replace retiring Danville City Clerk Lisa Monson effective July 1st.
Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr. administered the oaths to both Davis and Haun. (Haun is shown in top photo and Davis is in bottom photo – wearing white outfit.)
Alderman Doug Ahrens questioned spending the amount that will be going to the new Human Relations Administrator. He said the workload for the position has fallen since the post was originally created….
Audio PlayerAhrens (shown here) noted the two largest employers in Danville now – the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Danville School District 118 have their own compliance personnel.
Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr., says the city’s Human Resources Administrator has taken on new responsibilities. But alderwoman Tricia Teague noted some housing complaints are now handled by the City’s Legal Department.
** Also during their meeting, Danville City Council members rejected a request to re-name Harding Place, and tabled until July 1st a request to change the name of Walz Creek Drive to Dynamic Place.
** Aldermen also approved the 2025-2029 Community Development Block Grant Consolidated Plan and 2025 CDBG Annual Action Plan.
