A press release from earlier this week announced Vermilion Advantage and Vermilion County joining forces for a demolition program; designed to help cities, villages, and townships get rid of unwanted structures.
Vermilion Advantage will be managing the program through the Vermilion County Trustee program. Vermilion County Trustee Director Mike Levin says a total of $400,000 has been set aside for this program when it comes to the county’s contributions. Levin says there is no cap at this time on the cost of individual projects; where again, the village or municipality would pay half of the cost. He says this is a case of getting something organized for a major necessity.

Levin says with the City of Danville working hard to eliminate blight, it will be good to have this county program going. Yes, Danville could apply, but this is definitely designed to give the smaller Vermilion County cities a big boost.
