In previous years, Danville’s Arts in the Park weekend in Lincoln Park has often been on a colder, rainy summer weekend. Not so this time. CIMG was able to talk with Arts in the Park’s Brian Schroeder as things were just, literally, heating up under the sun Saturday morning.
(Middle Picture) With an open Friendly Town adding to this year’s Arts in the Park attraction, Danville Community Relations Administrator Rheanna Ollis was ready to show people around.

AUDIO: It’s gorgeous. We’re in the mid-90s. But you know what, in the shade it feels like it’s in the mid-80s. Beautiful day; not a chance of rain for this Arts in the Park; all the vendors, all the artists, all the music. There’s a chalk contest; there’s a car show, for people that like to go to the car shows all the time. Friendly Town is open this year, we have volunteers passing out information. Kids can go over and explore it.
After the wrap up of Saturday’s events in Lincoln Park, this year’s Arts in the Park will run from 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday (June 22nd).
