THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Around 1:56 A.M. on Tuesday, 6/24/2025, members of the Danville Police Department Patrol Division were dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and Virginia Street for the report of a male threatening a female with a firearm, with one round being discharged.
Witnesses on scene provided that when officers arrived, the male retreated into a nearby residence.
Officers surrounded the residence and gave commands for subjects to exit. Eventually, the male exited and was identified as 34-year-old Joshua Martinez of Danville.
After a search of the residence and garage, three firearms were located.
Due to the evidence and information gathered by officers, Martinez was transported to the Vermilion County Jail and booked on the charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
