An informational meeting has been set for Monday, (June 30th, 2025), to discuss a proposed solar farm along the Catlin-Tilton Road.
Earthrise Energy is inviting the public to attend the session to hear details about the project and ask questions. The meeting is to begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Catlin Banquet Center, located at 102 North Sandusky Street in Catlin.
Ellie Ginis, Project Development Manager for Tilton Solar Energy, LLC, says the company believes the project will not only enhance the resilience of the electric grid, but will also contribute to U.S. energy independence while providing significant economic benefits. Ginis says the project will help create new jobs, stimulate local businesses, and provide long-term tax revenue to support the local school system, roads, and fire districts.
Tilton Solar Energy, LLC is a subsidiary of Earthrise Energy, PBLLC. The utility-scale solar project would have a capacity of 188-megawatts.
Catlin Mayor Justin Bargo informed residents about the meeting in a post on social media. He said he hopes everyone uses this opportunity to ask questions or state concerns. The mayor also asked that everyone remain respectful since the panel will be doing its job to educate and inform the community about the proposed project.
