THE FOLLOWING IS A TAPS ON TUESDAY RELEASE
Taps on Tuesday will be held at 6:00 p.m. on July 1st at the Soldiers Circle in Spring Hill Cemetery.
This week, Larry Weatherford will briefly discuss the Battles of Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863) and Kennesaw Mountain (July 27, 1864).
Alan Woodrum will then present a program on his ancestor, Sergeant Alfred Atwood of the 125th Illinois Infantry, who was at the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. Taps on Tuesday was inspired by “100 Nights of Taps at Gettysburg,” and is in conjunction with Taps Across America and Taps for Veterans. It’s presented by the Vermilion County War Museum and the Ward Hill Lamon Civil War Roundtable.
