As we emerge from 4th of July Weekend, it is now time for a full week of the Georgetown Fair.
Georgetown Fair Board president Don Hackler says tonight is a huge night for the kids, because Touch-a-Truck will be going on from 6 to 8 PM, some free entertainment will be happening; and then at 7 PM right outside the grandstand, it will be the PING PONG DROP.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: We have a bucket truck that comes in, and we drop the ping pong balls from the sky; and they pick them up for prizes. It gives them a chance to win some carnival tickets too, for the rest of the week. And it’s kind of a fun night to kick things off in front of the grandstand.
And speaking of the Georgetown Fair Carnival, that opens tomorrow, Tuesday evening.
AUDIO: It’ll open Tuesday night at 6 o’clock; and run until 10 o’clock. (It’ll be) “armband night” every night that they’re open.
Tonight at 6 PM is the Miss Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant in the Banquet Center Building; and then things will be rolling all week, through Saturday’s busy schedule:
Audio PlayerAUDIO: Kiddie Day goes on that afternoon. Our concert is at night at 7:30. The carnival, of course, will run during Kiddie Day from 1 to 5, and then they’ll close down for an hour, and then it’ll come back open from 6 o’clock until closing.
We should also mention there is no gate admission for tonight, so bring your youngsters to Touch-a-Truck and the PING PONG DROP, with the rest of the week to look forward to as well. The 7:30 concert on Saturday is Priscilla Block with Roseland.
