When I told Colleen Caldwell about my Illinois 1 series about slices of life in the communities along the road from Watseka to Paris, she said “How fun!”
Then she started asking me about my background and being a journalist.
It was reciprocal. I loved learning about her background, too, and what she’s done for her community in saving buildings.
She’s part of what makes Illinois 1 hometowns so special for those who’ve lived there for years and those who visit.
Small-town memories last a lifetime.
