It may have been a bit breezy Saturday evening towards the end of Balloons Over Vermilion at Vermilion Regional Airport; but that did not stop some of the balloons from getting in the air and moving from one section of the airport to another.
A great Saturday evening crowd on hand watched as they were inflated, watched as they took off, and watched as they landed. And then after sundown, 25-plus balloons were inflated for the traditional glow. After a few of the flights, CIMG had a chance to speak with Mr. and Mrs. Hoagland from Veedersburg, Indiana; in attendance with their 15-year-old grandsons from Carmel, Indiana. It was the first time in attendance at BOV for all of them. And despite some weather challenges, they were having a great time.

Audio PlayerAUDIO: (Mr Hoagland) I would’ve liked a little better weather, but they’ve done a good job. (Mrs Hoagland) I think it’s quite a talent and beautiful; and I’m glad we got to see some go up. (Hey, how old are you? What’s your name?) I’m Drew Hoagland, and I’m 15. (What do you think of all this?) It’s really unique, and it’s beautiful to see their talents. (Would you like to fly one some day?) I’m kind of scared of heights, so probably not! (How about you, what’s your name? How old are you?) I’m Ryan; I’m 15 as well. (Okay, do you think you’d want to fly one? Are you going to go more than him?) Maybe I’d like to try, but I’m also a little bit scared of heights……
