Danville Firefighters received a little help from Mother Nature as they doused a blaze Wednesday afternoon which destroyed a vacant home in the 500 block of Chandler Street. Heavy rain began falling as firefighters were on the scene, but flames had already swept through the house.
Danville Fire Chief Aaron Marcott says firefighters did two sweeps through the residence when they first arrived to make sure nobody was inside. He added the home was on the City of Danville’s list of properties to be demolished.
Other information regarding the fire was not immediately available.
