Illinois State Police said Sunday that an investigation is continuing into an I-74 crash at Danville that sent four people to the hospital on Friday (July 18, 2025). No names have been released of the people involved in the crash which occurred along the eastbound lanes of the interstate near Illinois route one.
Troopers say that for some unknown reasons a pick-up truck struck the rear of a semi tractor trailer. All four of the people who were transported to local hospitals were traveling in the pick-up truck.
The crash occurred in a construction zone and resulted with the eastbound lanes of Interstate 74 in that area being closed for approximately four hours. All lanes were re-opened just before 5:00 p.m. on Friday. State Police said on Sunday that no other information about the accident is being released at this time.
