THE FOLLOWING IS A NEWS-GAZETTE STORY BY JENNIFER BAILEY
With the future of the Vermilion County Animal Shelter’s outdated facility unknown and the county looking to have the city of Danville pay more of its animal control service costs, its new leader is in place.
Vermilion County Board Chairman Steve Miller has named interim director Ryan Goodner as the new Vermilion County Department of Animal Regulations director, effective Friday.
Goodner has been interim director for about a month. He replaced former director Kasey Snyder who was removed from her position in which she’d been serving for about five years.
Miller said he interviewed “several excellent” applicants for this “important” position.
“It is my opinion that Mr. Goodner is the best candidate,” Miller stated.
Miller said Goodner has the skillset necessary to perform the director duties.
