DANVILLE — Whether she’s painting a couple on their wedding day or a Danville icon in front of a live audience, Katie Weston’s art comes with a signature touch — a meaningful date in time.
You may have to be of a certain age to remember library books being stamped with return due dates. Weston does a form of that with her pieces and portraits — at angles, in lighter and darker stamps of ink, then adding colors.
Next weekend, the Rossville native will take that approach on a special assignment — creating a live, date-stamped portrait of Gene Hackman during the Fischer Theatre’s tribute to one of Danville’s favorite sons.
