People v. Jose Quintana 2024-CF-715
On August 7, 2025, Jose Quintana (DOB: 4/6/1999), formerly of Cicero, Illinois, pleaded guilty to Armed Robbery, a class X felony, and was sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Following his term of imprisonment, Quintana will serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release. The plea and sentencing hearing were presided over by Judge Karen Wall.
The People presented evidence that on September 21, 2024, officers with the Danville Police Department responded to a business on North Vermilion Street for a report of an armed robbery. Witnesses advised police that a man came into the restaurant, pulled a gun on employees, and demanded money. The manager of the store handed over United States Currency to the robber who subsequently fled the scene. The defendant was identified through surveillance video and
descriptions provided by witnesses. He was located a few days later. The firearm was not recovered.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the Danville Police Department for their investigative work in this case. She added, “I would like to extend my appreciation to the brave witnesses whose detailed accounts were instrumental in helping law enforcement identify and apprehend this defendant. Armed robbery is a serious and dangerous crime that threatens the safety of the residents of Vermilion County. My office remains committed to working alongside law enforcement to hold violent offenders accountable and ensure our neighborhoods remain safe.”
