Danville, IL – August 12, 2025 — 25 days away from over 600 players taking to the fields at the Danville Area Soccer Complex! USA Ultimate is proud to announce that Danville, Illinois has been selected as the host city for the 2025 Sectional Championships, taking place September 6–7. This prestigious event marks a significant milestone for the city, bringing together top-tier ultimate frisbee teams from across the region to compete in the first stage of the USA Ultimate Club Postseason.
The tournament will be held at the Danville Area Soccer Complex, offering premier playing fields and facilities to accommodate athletes, coaches, and fans. The Sectional Championships serve as the gateway to the Regional and National Championships, showcasing high-level competition and the spirit of the game that defines ultimate.

Local officials also expressed enthusiasm about the announcement. “Hosting the USA Ultimate Sectionals is a great honor for Danville,” said Patrick Halloran, Director of Sports, Danville Area Soccer Association. “We look forward to welcoming athletes and fans to our city and showing them, all that Danville has to offer.”
The event is expected to attract hundreds of participants and spectators, over 600 players, to provide a boost to the local economy and an opportunity for the community to engage in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
