A Vermilion County Board committee is expected to hear a presentation Monday on a proposed new location for the county animal shelter. Currently the shelter is located on the Catlin-Tilton Road, just west of Tilton. The owner of Paw-A-Day Inn and Suites is offering to sell his facility to the county to replace the current aging animal shelter.
Tony Piatt, owner of Paw-A-Day Inn and Suites, is expected to give a short presentation at Monday’s committee meeting, with questions to follow.
Paw-A-Day Inn and Suites is located at 5 Hodge Street in Tilton, a short distance from the Illinois Secretary of State office.
The Property Committee meeting begins at 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, on the second floor of the Joseph G. Cannon Building. It is located at 200 North Vermilion Street in downtown Danville.
Other items on the agenda include a discussion for preparation of RFPs – requests for proposals – for tuckpointing the Rita B. Garman Vermilion County Courthouse.
