Gateway Family Services in Potomac is a Mental Health Agency known especially for the involvement of horses in their unique healing process. And on D102’s The Big Show with Tommy B, Michael Remole recently announced a special addition to the team.
AUDIO: We have been looking for a very long time to add a psychiatric nurse practitioner to our team. And we’ve added Chad Cottrell to the team, because we recognize that for some people in their healing journey medication is needed to help support them. And we needed to find the right fit for our team, and to make sure that it was a good fit for our clients.
Remole spoke further with Tommy B about the kinds of trauma, recent or long ago, that patients often deal with.
AUDIO: Things where the survival part of us has to kick into gear; would be the way that I would talk about trauma. And so these could be things: PTSD symptoms from combat experience for Veterans; it could be abuse, neglect, things like that; where the brain needs help and support in managing the responses that we have to even minor stresses.
For more information about Chad Cottrell’s work with Gateway Family Services please call 217-488-8006. His Potomac location is 108 West State Street.
