THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On August 27, 2025, at approximately 8:36 AM, officers with the patrol division were dispatched to the intersection of Jackson Street and Cherry Street for the report of one shot fired.
Clayvonte Sloan of Danville was identified as a suspect. Sloan was stopped leaving the area in a vehicle while patrol officers were arriving.
Police directed their attention to a residence in the 400 block of N. Jackson Street, where contact was made with the resident, Talicia Duckworth of Danville.
A court-ordered search warrant was granted for the residence. During the search, members located two firearms, suspected cannabis, suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, and US currency.
With the findings, Sloan and Duckworth were arrested and booked on several charges, including Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession of Firearms, Possession of Cannabis 500-2000 Grams, Delivery of Cannabis 500-2000 grams, and Methamphetamine Possession 5-15 grams. In addition to the above charges, Sloan was also booked for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
The Danville Police Department reminds citizens that all subjects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
