Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. Poetry Call: Back to School 2025. Introducing our new Digital Database: Biblioboard! Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or lifelong learner, share your thoughts, feelings, and creativity with us. September 8: Genealogy Workshop. Join us every 2nd Monday of the month. Each class offers a unique focus, guiding you through the fascinating world of genealogy. Whether you’re looking to enhance your family tree, preserve cherished family photos, or explore other aspects of your heritage, our Library Archives are here to help! 1:00 – 2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
September 9: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Break a Record. Choose a Guinness World Record and try to break it. 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Ages 8-12.
September 9: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under – Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Program Room.
September 10: Teen Crafternoons. Stop by the library on Wednesday afternoons for an hour of fun, hands-on craft: think watercolors, origami, bracelets, DIY projects, and more. No registration needed, just bring your creativity and hang out! 4:00 – 5:00 PM on the 2nd Floor. Ages 13-19.
September 10: Teen Writing Club. Join us every Wednesday for Teen Writing Club! Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts. 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm on the 2nd Floor.
September 10: Ukulele Music Club. Join Allison & Tony Kasper from UGSM for Ukulele Club this summer, held every 2nd Wednesday of the month! All skill levels are welcome – bring your own ukulele or borrow one of our limited extras. Printed sheet music will be provided, so just show up and strum along! 5:30 – 7:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
September 10: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
September 13: Aloha Afternoon Movie & Craft. Join us for a Hawaiian-themed family movie and craft session – perfect for all ages! Enjoy a fun film and get creative with a Hawaiian-inspired craft (while supplies last). 12:30 – 2:30 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
September 13: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Saturdays for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome – just bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves! 2:30 – 3:30 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
September 13: Sensory and Bilingual Story Adventures. A unique programming experience combining bilingual storytelling with sensory-friendly activities, designed to engage children of all abilities. This inclusive program creates a welcoming space where stories come to life through interactive elements, fostering language development and sensory exploration in a fun and supportive environment. Saturdays at 11 a.m. in the Children’s Department.
Adult Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor for September’s Scratch-Design Bookmarks take-and-make craft! While supplies last.
