DANVILLE — It’s the time of year when the Dairy Queen on East Main Street normally begins to gear up to close for the season.
That’s not happening this year.
New owner Harry Patel has announced plans for the store to be open year-round from this point forward.
He said discussion came down to “this year, let’s keep it open. We can survive. We want to keep it open for our customers.”
Patel is also looking to possibly renovate the restaurant, adding fryers and other equipment, to turn it into a Grill and Chill location and serve burgers and other foods alongside its ice cream treats, such as Blizzards, Peanut Buster Parfaits and more.
