DANVILLE — About 100 people shared tears and hopes and lit candles of remembrance at a rally for 18-year-old Aniyah Davis and others who’ve been killed by gun violence in the community.
Breon Boyd of Danville Restoring Our Community reminded the public at the start of the almost hour-and-a-half rally in downtown Danville that hundreds came together in the community nine years ago when 16-year-old Devon McClyde was killed in Garfield Park. Arrests and sentencings have occurred in his murder.
Boyd said they wanted to bring the community together again to show its support of Davis’ family, and they want the people held responsible for the shootings so they don’t happen to more families.
