Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. Visit https://danvillepubliclibrary.beanstack.org/ to join the fun!

Poetry Call: Back to School 2025. Introducing our new Digital Database: Biblioboard! Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or lifelong learner, share your thoughts, feelings, and creativity with us. September 23: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Nailed it! Inspired by the Netflix TV series, tweens will be presented with a craft and supplies, but no instructions! 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Ages 8-12.

September 23: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under – Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Program Room.

September 24: Teen Crafternoons. Stop by on Wednesday afternoons for an hour of fun, hands-on craft. This week: Paintable Magnets! No registration needed, just bring your creativity and hang out! 4:00 – 5:00 PM on the 2nd Floor. Ages 13-19.

September 24: Teen Writing Club. Join us every Wednesday for Teen Writing Club! Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts. 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm on the 2nd Floor.

September 24: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.

September 25: Silent Book Club. A cozy, no-pressure gathering for readers of all kinds! Bring your own book or check one out, enjoy a quiet hour of reading, and connect with your community in a relaxed, welcoming space. No assigned reading, no expectations – just books and good company. The 4th Thursday of the month August – October. 4:30 – 6:30 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.

September 27: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Saturdays for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome – just bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves! 2:30 – 3:30 PM. This week, we will be outside on the lawn! weather-permitting.

September 27: Sensory and Bilingual Story Adventures. A unique programming experience combining bilingual storytelling with sensory-friendly activities, designed to engage children of all abilities. This inclusive program creates a welcoming space where stories come to life through interactive elements, fostering language development and sensory exploration in a fun and supportive environment. Saturdays at 11 a.m. in the Children’s Department.

Adult Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor for September’s Scratch-Design Bookmarks take-and-make craft! While supplies last.
