Danville Sweet AdelinesIts School Career Day on the Danville Sweet Adelines’ stage as they present When I Grow Up, I Wanna Be…. on Saturday, October 4 at 3:00 p.m. at Danville Area Community College Bremer Theater. In support of local education, the Sweet Adelines, are collecting school supplies at the door for donation to District 118. Additionally, each paid adult is welcome to bring one K-12 student to the show at no charge. This does not include dinner. Admission (without dinner) is $15. Show and dinner is $40. Dinner, served by Dogg Pound BBQ, follows the show. Call 217-474-0473 for tickets.Background info for this year’s show.The setting is a 3rd grade classroom where each student (chorus member) is participating in Career Day where she portrays the career she wants to be when she grows up.
The show theme has many connections to us as a group of professional women who come from various careers such as healthcare, real estate, insurance, horticulture, social services, etc.. We have several active and retired educators among us. The school related theme and the charitable nature of our chorus, has motivated the supplies donation and student admission. We have collaborated with DHS in the past as a trophy and advertising sponsor for the Midwest Show Choir Competition.![]()
About the Chorus:The Danville Sweet Adelines is an a Capella women’s barbershop chorus that has been harmonizing locally for over 50 years. Along with our annual Fall show and Christmas Luncheon/Charity Auction, we regularly perform at area events including Arts in the Park, First Fridays, nursing homes and sing the National Anthem at local sporting events.
