The Illinois Broadcasters Association has announced the finalists for its 2025 Silver Dome Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting. Staff members from Central Illinois Multimedia Group radio stations in Danville received 7 total nominations in six different award categories.
News Director Steve Brandy’s coverage of the Grand Opening of the new Danville Aquatic Center received a nomination for Best Feature.
A commercial for Dave’s Double Barrell BBQ titled “He’s A Wizard” is a finalist for Best Radio Commercial.
The stations received two nominations in the category of Best Continuing Coverage. One for the United Way Radiothon, and another for coverage of Operation Honor Guard’s Day of Giving.
CIMG staff members also received nominations in individual categories:
Best Radio Personality: D102’s Tommy B for “Tommy B’s Big Show” with previous wins in 2019, 2023 & 2024.
Best Radio Sportscaster: RJ Crace, who has won previously in this category in 2021 & 2022.
Finally, WDNL-FM is a finalist in the category of Station of the Year.
A nomination for a Silver Dome Award means the entry is among the top three in its category in Small Market Radio in Illinois.
The winners will be announced October 27th at the IBA’s Annual Meeting in Springfield, IL.
