Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. September 30: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Board Game Night. Play your favorite game with your friends. 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Ages 8-12.
September 30: Teen Universal Yums. Ready to snack your way around the world? Each month, teens can explore a different country through its unique treats, fun trivia, and music from that culture. It’s a flavorful, interactive experience you won’t want to miss! This month: Mexico! 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Conference Room. Ages 13 – 19.
September 30: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under – Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Program Room.
October 1: Teen Crafternoons. Stop by on Wednesday afternoons for an hour of fun, hands-on craft. This week: Foil Craft Stickers and Magnets! No registration needed, just bring your creativity and hang out! 4:00 – 5:00 PM on the 2nd Floor.
October 1: Teen Writing Club. Come write, chill, and connect. No pressure – just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts and snacks to fuel your mind. Every Wednesday, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
October 1: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
October 2: ESL Family Group. Join our family-focused support group for those learning English as a second language. Connect with other families, share experiences, and grow your confidence in a safe, friendly space. October 4: Barry Cloyd, Edu-Tainer Presents: Jules Verne & H.G. Wells, the Birth of Sci-Fi and the First Citizens of the Future.Sci-Fi comes alive! Join Singer/Songwriter Historian, Barry Cloyd, for a mind-bending journey with story, strange instruments & spacey tunes. Fun for all ages. 2:00 – 3:30pm in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
October 4: Publishing 101. Curious about how to publish your writing? Learn Publishing Basics from local author M.I.H. McCool, who brings over 20 years of experience in the publishing world! October 4: Senior Social Hour. Seniors, join us on the first Saturday of every month, for a chance to have coffee and play games together. 9 am to 10 am in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
October 4: Sensory and Bilingual Story Adventures. A unique programming experience combining bilingual storytelling with sensory-friendly activities, designed to engage children of all abilities. This inclusive program creates a welcoming space where stories come to life through interactive elements, fostering language development and sensory exploration in a fun and supportive environment. Saturdays at 11 a.m. in the Children’s Department.
Adult Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor for a take & make craft! Enjoy September’s Scratch-Design Bookmarks or October’s Inktober Sketch Kit! While supplies last.
Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture and win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified.
