THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On September 21, 2025, at 2:44 a.m., officers were notified of a road rage incident that was occurring near the intersection of Main Street and Gilbert Street.
Officers located both vehicles and made traffic stops. The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Luke Davis of Covington, IN.
During the investigation, officers learned that the victim had pulled into a gas station at the corner of Main Street and Gilbert Street to inform Davis that he had a taillight out. After that interaction, the victim stated Davis began following him in his vehicle. Due to the concerning behavior of Davis, the victim contacted 911, and officers located both vehicles.
While speaking with Davis, officers observed a firearm in plain view on the front passenger seat of the vehicle Davis was driving. The firearm was found to be loaded. During a further search of the vehicle, officers also located a controlled substance.
Davis was arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Jail on the charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Disorderly Conduct.
The Danville Police Department reminds citizens that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
No other information will be released regarding this incident.
