DANVILLE — The community is mourning the death of a longtime educator and coach in the area.
Twenty-four-year teacher, coach and most currently Danville High School athletic director Gary Gritton has died.
In a post on social media, Danville School District 118 and the Viking Athletic family stated Gritton “touched the lives of all that he encountered in the classroom, on the diamond and as athletic director.”
“Please keep his family, friends, wife and three children in your thoughts during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed by all.”
