The People presented evidence that on July 24, 2024, Danville Police responded to a reported burglary in the area of Martin Street. Upon arrival, officers observed that an air conditioning unit had been removed from a window and was lying on the ground. Officers saw a suspect inside the residence and issued multiple verbal commands for anyone inside to exit the home. The suspect did not comply and officers forced entry into the residence. He initially provided a false name, but was later identified as Antonio Munoz. While clearing the residence, officers located a female victim inside. The victim reported that Munoz had broken into the home wearing a mask and sprayed her with pepper spray. Emergency medical services responded to the scene and provided treatment to the victim. Security footage was obtained from nearby residences, and witnesses confirmed seeing the suspect attempting to enter the home.
