The winner of the Winding Ivy award for Building Economic Wealth left her corporate office job to found her own business, one dedicated to jumpstarting the careers of others.
In 2018, Danville’s TRICIA TEAGUE launched The Trep School, setting her sights on educating people on how to be entrepreneurs. To date, the school has awarded more than $250,000 in business investments to program alumni.
“In many instances, businesses were able to start because of the work that we did,” says Teague, who represents Danville’s Ward 4 on the city council. “They came through our program, got the education that they needed to start their business, got coaching to help them with those processes and then actually used the funds they received to open storefronts or get equipment needed to take their business to the next level.”
