THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On September 28, 2025 around 4:11 pm, Danville Police responded to a report of a motorized bicycle versus vehicle traffic crash in the area of Harmon Street and Voorhees Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 43-year-old Danville man with severe injuries after striking a GMC Terrain. Medical Personal arrived to render aid and the patient was transported to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
DPD officers immediately began investigating the scene and were later assisted by the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the motorized bicycle, traveling northbound on Harmon Street, failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection of Harmon Street and Voorhees Street. The GMC Terrain, traveling eastbound on Voorhees Street, was struck on the passenger-side door by the motorized bicycle as it passed through the intersection.
The identification of the victim is not being released at this time and is pending notification by the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office. No other injuries were reported during this incident. The investigation into this incident continues and no other information is being released at this time.
