A Vermilion County Board committee is recommending the full board approve an agreement with an Indianapolis-based consulting firm for design and tuckpointing work at the Joseph G. Cannon Building. Performance Services Design, LLC would also help advance plans for improvements to the elevator at the Cannon Building.

(Joseph G. Cannon Building in downtown Danville.)
Also included are tuckpointing work at the county maintenance building on Hazel Street and the Rita B. Garman Vermilion County Courthouse.
The County has already done some research on the elevator project. Performance Services Design, LLC would probably reach out to some more contractors according to comments at Monday evening’s meeting of the Finance and Personnel Committee of the County Board.
Some committee members said they do not think it is good practice to have office personnel writing bid specifications for such projects.
Performance Services Design LLC would be paid $39-thousand dollars to do design work and reach out to more contractors.
