People v. Michael Myers 2022-CF-74, 2023-CF-264, 2023-CF-684, 2024-CF-34
On September 26, 2025, Michael Myers (DOB: 8/29/1984), formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty and was sentenced in three separate cases to Methamphetamine Possession, a class 1 felony; Burglary, a class 2 felony; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, a class 2 felony. Myers was also resentenced on August 20, 2025, following a Petition to Revoke Probation for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine, a class 1 felony. Myers was sentenced to a total of 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and will serve 1 year of mandatory supervised release following his term of imprisonment.
The People presented evidence that in 2022-CF-74, Michael Myers had been previously convicted and sentenced to probation. On May 5, 2023, while on probation, Myers was found in possession of 18 grams of methamphetamine and was charged in 2023-CF-264. Myers subsequently posted bond in 2023 and was released from custody. On November 3, 2023, while out on bond, Myers committed the offenses of Burglary and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a felon, when he and a co-defendant broke into a gaming machine at a local business. They stole United States Currency from the machine and fled the scene. The crime was captured on
surveillance video. Later that day, Myers was arrested driving the vehicle he and his codefendant had left in from the scene of the burglary. The car was searched and police located methamphetamine and a loaded semi-automatic pistol.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the victim of the burglary for his cooperation. She added, “This defendant has shown a complete disregard for the law. We are grateful to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department and to the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group for their dedication and thorough work in bringing this criminal to justice. My office will continue to work with law enforcement to keep Vermilion County safe.”
