DANVILLE — Vermilion Advantage’s President/CEO Mike Marron is stepping down from the position after two years.
The email announcement to the Vermilion Advantage board, as obtained by Central Illinois Multimedia Group, comes as allegations of bribery and misconduct among county officials, and also involving Vermilion Advantage, were reported to the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s office.
In his email to the Vermilion Advantage board members, Marron, who said he’d already been considering resigning, said he is offering to continue serving through the first part of next year, up to April 1, 2026.
He said: “For the last two years, I have been trying to run this organization and also farm a substantial amount of land, ostensively holding two full-time jobs. As a result, my farm has suffered. While this issue has been on my mind for the reasons stated, some concerns I have with the Trustee Program and the county’s recent position have brought this to a head.
“I love this organization, I love this work, and I love this county, but I have to be fair to my family and to the business that has sustained our family here in Vermilion County since 1867,” Marron said.
