THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION ADVANTAGE RELEASE
Danville, Illinois — The Board of Directors of Vermilion Advantage is aware of recent public statements made by former CEO Mike Marron regarding the Vermilion County Board and alleged misconduct. We believe it is important to clarify inaccuracies and reaffirm our organization’s role and independence.
Contrary to statements made, Vermilion Advantage is not a subsidiary of Vermilion County. Vermilion Advantage is a private, member-driven, not-for-profit organization that serves as the county’s economic development and business leadership entity. We collaborate with many public and private partners, including the County Board, municipalities, and employers across the region, but we remain a fully independent organization governed by our own Board of Directors.
At this time, we have no reason to believe that the alleged bribery or any related activities involve wrongdoing by anyone representing or employed by Vermilion Advantage. Integrity and ethical conduct are central to our mission and values. We will continue to focus on advancing economic growth, supporting our business community, and strengthening Vermilion County’s competitiveness.
