The following statement on the Illinois Destinations final day event was submitted to CIMG by Mike Hulvey:
We reviewed the history of the NJCAA tournament in Danville. We focused on the story of how a small tournament grew into such a strong national event.
We focused on the community buy-in, the volunteers, the national media extensions and how the participants have grown into family.

It was an honor to share our successes with professionals from across the state, they voiced their appreciation for what the Danville team
has accomplished in the past 33-years. They have a unique understanding of how difficult it is to keep events like the NCJAA tournament thriving for over three decades.

Scott Eisenhauer shared his thoughts as well:
The story of our 33=year partnership with the NJCAA is not just a basketball story, or a destination story. Or even an economic development story, but its a community story…and to share that story of community volunteers, community partners, community businesses, and community members who have grown up around the tournament, with tourism leaders from all over Illinois, was an honor. Its a great story of dedication, perseverance, commitment, and passion and we are very grateful to Rhonda and her amazing DACVB team for giving us the chance to tell it.
