THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE RELEASE
DANVILLE – The Library at Danville Area Community College is pleased to announce the second event in its new speaker series, “That’s a Novel Idea: A Series of Short Talks” on October 22 at 10:00AM. This event will feature Dr. Eric Simonson, Distinguished Professor of Music, presenting a brief talk on his composition “Branches.” Dr. Simonson will be speaking in the DACC Library. Attendees are invited to enjoy desserts and discussion following the talk.
In this entertaining 15-minute talk, Dr. Simonson will be talking about the composition, a piece of music he composed for cajon and computer-generated sounds that was presented at the 2025 International Computer Music Conference held in Boston. Patti Cudd, a percussionist based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, was the performer. He will reveal a little about how he made the piece and show a video of the performance.
