DANVILLE — The Danville school board on Wednesday will consider removing district business and finance director Narcissus Rankin from her position, effective immediately.
Board President Darlene Halloran said she couldn’t comment further on the agenda item, adding that more information will be forthcoming at the meeting, where the district’s attorney will be present.

She said board members will meet in closed session beforehand.
Rankin has been in her current role since 2020 and served as assistant director for five years before being promoted.
Recently, she has dealt with issues that include a new bus transportation contract and budgeting, with school board members questioning adjustments to the past budget before approving a deficit budget for 2025-26.
