The Illinois Broadcasters Association handed out its annual Silver Dome Awards Monday night at their annual conference in Springfield, and the Danville radio stations of the Central Illinois Multimedia Group received top honors in two categories.
A 1st place award goes to News Director Steve Brandy in the category of Best Light Feature for his story on the opening of the Danville Aquatic Center last year. This is his 4th consecutive win in this IBA category.
Another 1st place honor went to the CIMG broadcast staff for Best Continuing Coverage. This was earned for its coverage of the 2024 United Way Radiothon.
CIMG was also a finalist in 3 other categories, including Best Commercial, Best Sportscaster (RJ Crace), and Best Personality (Tommy B), along with a second finalist position for Best Continuing Coverage (Operation Honor Guard).
WDNL was also a finalist for Small Market Radio Station of the Year.
A finalist position means you finished in the top three in the state in Small Market Radio.
