THE FOLLOWING IS A CUSTARD CUP RELEASE
[Danville, Illinois] – While The Custard Cup in Danville may have officially ended their 76th season this past Sunday, they will be reopening their windows on Friday, October 31 to serve up scoops of custard for an important cause.
“Our ‘Customer Love Day’ is a way for us to say ‘Thank You’ to our customers, not only for their continued to patronage, but for also joining us in supporting the Vermilion County community at-large,” shared owner Andrew Seibert, who purchased The Cup in 2024. Through The Cup’s “Scoops of Love” initiative, in which customers are invited to add a $1 donation to their order, customers donated nearly $10,000 over the past 8 months. The Cup matched those donations with an additional $8,500. Local organizations benefiting from “Scoops of Love” included the Vermilion County Handicapped Association, The Dwelling Place, and Rose’s Food 4 The Children.
The Cup will open from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Halloween to serve up scoops for just $1, with every dollar collected going directly to the St. James Food Pantry. “The pantry already serves over 400 of our neighbors each month, and with the upcoming cutoff of SNAP benefits, we know that even more will be needing help as we head into the holiday season. As a food establishment, we feel compelled to step up and help,” Seibert said. “We’re confident our customers will turn out in force to join us!”
